Anthropology 431C

Anthropology 431C is a two-term course within the Department of Anthropology at the University of British Columbia that explores contemporary museum practices, including collecting, conservation, cataloguing and digitization; repatriation or the return of cultural objects; museum education; exhibition design and exhibition making. Over the course of one year, students meet with museum professionals, curators, and artists to find out more about their practices. The final project consists of the creation of a museum exhibit, from writing and designing exhibition labels and graphic panels to designing display cases and organizing public programs.
